European Province

Paula writes: Sr Damien died on the morning of 26th August. She came off the targetted cancer drugs about 3 weeks ago as they were no longer having any effect, and deteriorated rapidly, particularly in the last week. Damien’s funeral will be on Wed Sept 6 at 2.15 p.m. Let us know if you’re coming.

Benedict writes: Can I commend our Brother Robert to your prayers please. On the 1st August he is beginning his pilgrimage on foot from Canterbury to Assisi, a journey which should take him about three months to complete (there and back; walking there and getting a coach back from Assisi). He will be keeping in regular contact with his mother and with myself to confirm that he is safe and well. It is quite a challenge but he is conscious of the fact that he could apply to the Community for election to Life Profession next year and this is part of his discernment process and preparation; and he has been praying about this journey for some time.

CSF’s service of Celebration and Thanksgiving for our ministry in Birmingham will be on Saturday 23rd September at 2.30pm at Christ Church Memorial Hall, Summerfield Cresent (adjacent to the church in Gillott Road), followed by light refreshments at St Francis’ House. We are marking the end of 45 years of CSF’s corporate ministry in Birmingham: at Trafalgar Road Balsall Heath, St Elizabeth’s House Hampton Road Birchfield, and since 1997 at Gillott Road.
